Teenager killed at Mick Doohan raceway remembered as a ‘lovable larrikin’

A teenage boy who was killed in a dirt bike crash has been remembered as a “lovable larrikin” who had a “bright future ahead of him”.

Anthony Gordon was racing at Mick Doohan Raceway on Raubers Road at Banyo, on Brisbane’s northside, when the 16-year-old crashed about 1.45pm on Monday and died at the scene.

Mr Gordon’s former coach and family friend Shannon Wright said the tragedy had hit the community hard, with the close-knit group grieving the loss of the talented rider.

“He was a lovable larrikin, always a laugh, always laughing at the club, there’s not a bad bone in his body,” Mr Wright said.

“He was just one awesome young kid and one awesome family as well.
